The Serbia and Montenegro coach Ilija Petkovic on Monday announced the squad for the 2006 World Cup in Germany
The biggest names are Atletico's striker Mateja Kezman and Inter Milan midfielder Dejan Stankovic. The core of the team is composed of seasoned, tough internationals who fill their respective, blue-collar roles in sides playing from Moscow to Great Britain.
However, Red Star's towering, 2.02 metre striker Nikola Zigic may emerge from the World Cup as the top Serbian star - presuming he receives some service from the midfield to either score or supply the lightning-quick Kezman with scoring opportunities.
