England substitute goalkeeper Robert Green's world cup is over after he picked up an injury after coming on at half-time during the England B's warm up game aginst Balarus at the Madejski stadium in Reading.
The Norwich City keeper replaced veteran England and Manchester City goalkeeper David James in goal at half-time It happened as he took a goal kick and his leg gave way from under him and as he lay down injured balarus scored to make it 1:1 after Jermaine Jenas scored the opener in the first-half. Robert Green has now been confirmed as having ruptured his groin and is now going to miss any chance of featuring in the World Cup Finals. Scott Carson will now replace him in the world cup finals The game ended with Balarus winning 2:1 |
