England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson has named his provisional squad to take to this summer's World Cup in Germany.
Eriksson has picked a mix of experienced and unexperienced players. One suprise is the strikers. Sven had been tipped to pick 6 strikers but in the end only picked 4 strikers, 2 of which are currently injured. Both Charlton's Darren Bent and Tottenham Hotspurs' Jermain Defoe were highly tipped to be picked in the World Cup squad but both have missed out on a final squad place after being in most of Eriksson's squads this season. Arsenal's Theo Walcott gets a suprise call up to the England squad. Walcott is uncapped and hasnt even played for Arsenal since his switch back in January from Southampton. Meanwhile, injury has ruled out Tottenham's Ledley King and Eriksson feals that Luke Young wont be fit in time for the World Cup. The provisional squad that Sven-Goran Eriksson has picked is....
