England striker Wayne Rooney has left Whalley Range Hospital following a scan on his broken metatarsal.
The 20-year-old will face a wait of several hours as Leif Sward (England Doctor) and his Manchester United counterpart Tony Gill determine his participation in this summer's World Cup.
The whole country has been transfixed with the youngster's fitness, and were boosted by the sight of Rooney training on Tuesday in Baden-Baden.
The forward will only join the rest of his international team-mates if the scan shows the injury has healed sufficiently.
