England striker Wayne Rooney has been passed fit, and will expect to play some part in the World Cup Finals in Germany after his medical scan came back positive.
He returned to the clinic in Manchester where he underwent the scan on his broken metatarsal earlier on Wednesday, to discuss the results with the specialists. He was accompanied by the Football Association executive director David Davies to the Whalley Range clinic in Manchester to get the results. Now that Rooney has got the nod from the England and Manchester United medical teams, Tottenham Hotspur striker Jermain Defoe will know that there is now no way he will replace Rooney in the 23-man England squad for the World Cup Finals in Germany. |
