Germany Goalkeeper Jen Lehmann may miss Gemany's game on Wednesday against Poland with the ankle injury he picked up in the World Cup opener against Costa Rica.
Lehmann twisted his ankle during the first half of Friday's game and received treatment on the pitch. He then had his ankle strapped up at half time and felt he was fit to continue. Lehmann said: "I twisted my ankle and I am in pain. I don't know how bad it is. We will see." Elsewhere, Ashley Cole put in a decent performance for England against Paraguay, albeit a slightly slippery one. Freddie Ljungberg started Sweden's opener versus Trinidad & Tobago despite reports that he would miss out following a foot injury. Toure and Eboue are set to feature tonight against Argentina. Eboue is especially looking forward to playing against Hernan Crespo: "I have not played against Crespo yet, but everyone knows how good he is. I will give everything to try and stop him and help us get off to a winning start." |
